Scania’s new R series is elected “Truck of the Year”. The all new R series was introduced 2009 and just a few months later, in 2010, it was elected “Truck of the Year”. In order to meet driver’s demands the R series was equipped with an entirely new cab. Other news was Driver Support, a system that enables the driver to get feedback in real time on how he or she can refine the way of driving.

Lech Kaczyński, the president of Poland, dies in an air crash. Lech Kaczyński, the president of Poland, died when Poland’s government aircraft crashed in the morning of April 10 2010 over Smolensk in western Russia on the way to participate in a memorial ceremony. All 96 onboard including distinguished Polish politicians, government officials, prominent members of the church and the military were killed.

One of history’s largest art thefts. On May 20 the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, France reported that 5 paintings had been stolen: among them “Le pigeon aux petits pois” by Pablo Picasso and “La Pastorale” by Henri Matisse. The total value of the five paintings was estimated at €100 millions.
